3 Steps to Plan Your Most Aligned & Abundant Year Yet! For Female Entrepreneurs

Are you tired of traditional goal-setting methods that leave you feeling drained and questioning your potential? You’re not alone. Many spiritual entrepreneurs, like coaches and healers, struggle with rigid, one-size-fits-all strategies that don’t align with their natural energy or unique purpose. But what if your 2025 goals could feel aligned, effortless, and deeply fulfilling?

In this blog post, I’m sharing the top three tools I used to plan my most abundant and aligned year yet. These strategies shifted my approach from burnout to flow and helped me achieve clarity, confidence, and results in my business. If you’ve ever felt like traditional planning doesn’t work for you, this is your sign to try something new.

Why Traditional Goal-Setting Doesn’t Work for Everyone

For years, I forced myself into traditional goal-setting frameworks like SMART goals and productivity hacks like time blocking, only to feel stuck and disappointed in myself. As a Manifesting Generator in Human Design, I’ve learned that these methods often fail because they’re not designed for every energy type. If you’ve ever felt like the black sheep of entrepreneurship, or if strategies that work for others leave you feeling frustrated, it’s time to create a system tailored to YOU.

According to a Forbes poll from 2024, 66% of people gave up on their New Year’s goals by the 4-month mark, while only 6% passed the 1-year mark and created long-lasting change in their lives. This highlights why creating a personalized, fail-proof strategy is so critical to sustainable success.

Let’s dive into the three transformative steps that will help you create an aligned vision for 2025.

1. Know and Honour Your Cycles and Seasons

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned as a business owner is the importance of honouring my natural cycles and seasons. Just like nature, we all have rhythms of high and low energy—especially women, whose menstrual cycles affect energy levels throughout the month.

Before I started tracking my energy, I would wake up some days feeling completely drained and judge myself for not being able to complete my to-do list. As a high achiever, I expected to operate at 80-100% every single day. When I couldn’t, I’d feel like something was wrong with me.

How I Track My Cycles

  1. Monthly Cycles: Women’s energy cycles span roughly 28 days, transitioning through menstruation, follicular, ovulation, and luteal phases. For example, ovulation is often a high-energy time perfect for productivity and creativity, while the luteal phase is ideal for reflection and slowing down. It’s important to adjust your expectations and prioritize based on what energy you have available to you throughout the month. I use the Stardust app to track my cycle, but there are many great options available.
  2. Annual Cycles: Beyond monthly cycles, I’ve noticed annual patterns in my energy. For me, the summer months are my “winter,” when my energy dips, and I’m more prone to burnout. Knowing this, I no longer plan major launches or high-energy projects during this time. Instead, I reserve those for my energetic “spring” and “summer” months.

By tracking these cycles, I’ve learned to stop forcing myself to be in a season that doesn’t align with my natural energy. The result? More ease, less burnout, greater capacity to follow through on my goals/vision and a deeper sense of alignment.

Action Steps

  • Start tracking your menstrual cycle (or natural energy rhythms if you’re not menstruating).
  • Reflect on your annual patterns. When do you feel most energized? When do you naturally slow down?
  • Use this information to plan your year in a way that works with your energy, not against it.

2. Reflect on 2024: Wins and Obstacles

Reflection is a powerful tool for intentional goal-setting. Before planning 2025, I took the time to look back at 2024 to celebrate my wins and identify the obstacles that could hold me back in the new year. Identifying wins is an essential part of the process, especially for high achievers, as we’re often spending more time and energy thinking about “what’s next” than looking back at what went well. Although it can feel foreign to acknowledge how far you’ve come, this step helps to rewire your brain to look at the successes rather than searching for all of problems (and creating more problems). Remember, what you focus on grows.

Identifying the obstacles is the next essential step because we are creatures of habit, and the challenges we face often repeat themselves in new ways.

Some of My Top Wins for 2024

  • Leveraged partnerships and collaborations that brought in new clients effortlessly.
  • Achieved an almost $20k quarter – a personal milestone.
  • Facilitated my first in-person 3-day coach training, which was incredible after years of hosting online sessions.
  • Manifested and moved into our apartment in Montreal while also preparing our home in Mexico for rental.
  • Overcame anxiety and depression that hit hard last summer by focusing on self-care and grounding practices.
  • Spent meaningful time with family, including milestone celebrations like my mom’s 60th and my cousin’s 40th.

Reflecting on these wins reminded me of the progress I’ve made, even in areas that weren’t part of my original plan. It’s so easy to focus on what’s left to do, but acknowledging your accomplishments is key to staying motivated.

Questions for Your Reflection

Here are some powerful questions to guide your reflection:

  • What did I accomplish in 2024?
  • What went well?
  • What were my greatest obstacles or setbacks?
  • What am I most proud of?

Looking Ahead to 2025

Once you’ve reflected, use these questions to start shaping your vision for the new year:

  • What do I want to be known for?
  • What am I ready to call in this year?
  • What needs to be resolved to achieve my goals?
  • How do I want to feel in 2025?
  • What is my mission, and how can it guide my actions?

Taking the time to answer these questions will not only provide clarity but also help you set goals that are realistic, meaningful to you, and aligned.

3. Leverage Human Design

Human Design has been a game-changer for how I approach goal-setting and planning. This tool provides insight into how you’re uniquely wired to function, make decisions, and create success.

Understanding the Centers

One of the most impactful aspects of Human Design for me has been learning about the centers. These are areas in your chart where you either influence others or are influenced by external energy. For example:

  • Open Emotional Center: As someone with an open emotional center, I’m highly susceptible to taking on the emotions of others. This has led to feelings of extreme sadness, overwhelm and anxiety in the past. Now, I’m more intentional about clearing my energy and recognizing when I’m taking in what’s not mine.
  • Open Crown and Ajna Centers: These centers make me prone to mental pressure and overthinking. When I notice this, I take a step back to observe my thoughts rather than identifying with them.

How Human Design Changed My Goal-Setting

For years, I tried to follow traditional goal-setting methods that didn’t work for my Manifesting Generator energy. Advice like “focus on one thing at a time” left me bored and frustrated, while rigid plans felt suffocating. Once I embraced my design, I gave myself permission to:

  • Pursue multiple projects at once (in alignment with my energy).
  • Trust my inner authority to guide decisions, rather than relying on overplanning.
  • Release the pressure to fit into templates or strategies that don’t feel right.

The result? More successful launches, greater alignment, and a renewed sense of purpose.

Action Steps

  • If you don’t already know your Human Design, start by pulling your chart (geneticmatrix.com is my preferred website)
  • Dive into the centers and learn how your open and defined areas influence your energy.
  • Use this knowledge to create goals and strategies that align with your unique design.
  • Book a 1:1 Human Design reading with me here if you want my help to understand your chart and how to use this information to help you thrive.

Those are the tops 3 tools you can use. Now here are some additional helpful tips when reflecting on 2024 and visioning for 2025!

The Importance of Fostering an Objective Perspective

One of the biggest setbacks for entrepreneurs is taking their results personally. Business isn’t personal, and cultivating a neutral perspective allows you to assess your progress more accurately. When you avoid attaching emotions to your results, you can focus on solutions and forward movement.

Here are a few tips to help you foster an objective perspective:

  • Take deep breaths and connect with your body to release tension before assessing your goals.
  • View your business as an entity outside of yourself. Imagine you’re a fly on the wall observing your business. What do you notice?
  • Understand that your business is a reflection of your efforts. From an outsider’s perspective, ask: Did you stay focused? Were there distractions, doubt, or procrastination? What can shift?

This practice of neutrality helps you see challenges and opportunities without judgment, enabling better decision-making for your future goals.

The Power of Alignment in Goal-Setting

When you align your goals with your natural energy, cycles, and unique design, you set yourself up for success that feels effortless and fulfilling. The key is to stop forcing yourself into systems that don’t work for you and start embracing the tools that honour who you are.
